Newborn Boy Stolen From Balasore Hospital Rescued From Jaleswar – N.F Times




Balasore: Police rescued the newborn baby boy who was stolen from Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH) and handed him to his mother.

According to reports, the newborn was stolen from his mother Anita Dandapata, a resident of Baliapal block, the Balasore DHH on Sunday morning.

Anita Dandapata of Kulhachada village was admitted to the hospital and she delivered a baby boy on Saturday. After the delivery, the mother and the infant were brought to the maternity ward of the hospital. An ASHA worker along with an unidentified woman came to the ward and took the baby away from the mother on the pretext of vaccinating him.

When the baby was not returned to the mother, the family filed a complaint at the police station. During the investigation, the cops identified the ASHA worker and the woman from the footage of a CCTV camera installed in the hospital.

Subsequently, a police team launched a search for the newborn and rescued the baby boy from the Jaleswar area. The police have also detained a woman in this connection for interrogation.
