Sambalpur: A woman and her daughter were stabbed for a land dispute in Dinapali village under Ainthaplai police limits in Sambalpur district on Friday.
The victim duo has been identified as Indu Das and her daughter Payal Das while the accused is their neighbour Suraj Hati.
They were admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Science And Research in Sambalpur after being stabbed.
According to sources, a dispute prevailed between the Das family and Suraj, over some land. As usual, the mother-daughter duo was on their way to their tailor shop when Suraj attacked them with a knife, leaving them critically injured.
Suraj absconded after committing the crime. Upon being informed, police launched a manhunt for Suraj.
