Balasore: A student residing in a private school in Balasore district was killed after the concrete water tank collapsed on him on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Tudu (10), a student of Banchhanidhi English Medium School in Padmapur under Chandipur police limits in Balasore.
Narayan, Son of Bagrai Tudu of Khurda district was studying in 4th standard in the school.
As per reports, the mishap occurred when Narayan went to wash his hands after breakfast with other students. Suddenly the water tank collapsed and fell down. While the other students suffered minor injuries, Narayan sustained critical injuries on his head and legs as a major portion of the cement wall of the tank fell on him.
He was rushed to the Balasore hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Upon receiving the information, police reached the scene and initiated a probe into the matter.
