Alcaraz, who will be competing in the tournament for the fourth year in a row, won the title at last year’s event. In the final, he won the summit showdown 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 against Novak Djokovic of Serbia, who was aiming for a fifth consecutive title, to win his second Grand Slam title after the 2022 US Open (New York, USA, hard court).
Alcaraz entered the tournament with a 26-6 record, having won the Indian Wells (ATP1000/hard court) in March and the French Open (Paris/clay court) in June.
