RDA Legal Assistant Dismissed From Govt Service Following Conviction In Corruption Case – N.F Times

Rourkela: A Legal Assistant at Rourkela Development Authority has been dismissed from government service after his conviction in a vigilance corruption case.

The accused has been identified as Manoj Kumar Dash.

Dash was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988/109 IPC for his alleged involvement in a corruption case.

He was dismissed from Govt. service as per the provision of OCS(CCA) Rules,1962 by the competent authority following his conviction by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.

Dash was convicted by  Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh on 26.06.2024 and sentenced to undergo
rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 in default of payment of the fine, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 3 months more for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988/109 IPC.

Following the conviction of Dash, Odisha Vigilance communicated in this regard to the competent authority to take appropriate action against Sri Dash. Accordingly, Sri Manoj Kumar Dash was dismissed from government service by the competent authority.
