J&K Encounter: Four Terrorists Killed, Two Soldiers Martyred – N.F Times

J&K: In two separate encounters in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday four terrorists were killed, including a senior Hizbul Mujahideen commander. Unfortunately, two Indian Army soldiers lost their lives in the operation.

The clashes occurred in the Frisal Chinnigam and Modergam areas of the south Kashmir district during a cordon-and-search operation. Security forces initiated the operation after receiving intelligence about the terrorist presence in Modergam village.

During the search operation, terrorists opened fire on the security personnel, leading to intense gunfights. Drone footage from the encounter sites revealed four terrorist bodies, which remain unrecovered due to ongoing gunfire.

An Army official confirmed that two of our brave soldiers died in the line of duty. One soldier was critically injured during the initial exchange and succumbed to his injuries despite our best efforts to save him.

The operation is still in progress as security forces continue to engage with the terrorists.

This incident comes amid a reported increase in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir over the past few months. In June, security forces neutralized three terrorists in an encounter in the Gandoh, Bhaderwah sector of Doda district, as confirmed by ADGP Jammu Anand Jain.
