Heavy Rainfall in Odisha for Four More Days: IMD – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has forecasted the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and its vicinity, which is expected to cause heavy rainfall across several districts in Odisha.

Heavy rainfall, ranging from 7 to 11 cm, is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Boudh, and Kalahandi.

For July 28, the IMD predicts heavy rainfall of 7 to 11 cm at one or two places in the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Nuapada, and Nabarangpur.

The forecast for July 29 by the IMD suggests that heavy rainfall, also between 7 to 11 cm, is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore.

A yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for five districts of Odisha on July 30. The IMD predicts that heavy rainfall, in the range of 7 to 11 cm, is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur.

For July 31, the IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall, likely to be between 7 to 11 cm, at one or two places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Deogarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada.

Recent heavy rainfall has been recorded in various districts of Odisha, with the highest measurement of 14 cm in Nandapur (Koraput), followed by 13 cm in Jeypore (Koraput), and 11 cm in Lamataput (Koraput), Muruda (Mayurbhanj), Bhograi (Balasore), Banaigarh (Sundargarh), and Rampur (Kalahandi).
