New Delhi:  Delhi Court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia until August 13 in connection with a money laundering case tied to the alleged excise scam.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja also extended the custody of BRS leader K Kavitha in the same case until that date.

Additionally, the judge extended the judicial custody of Sisodia and Kavitha in a related corruption case, under investigation by the CBI, until August 9.

This order was passed following the presentation of the accused in court upon the expiration of their previously granted judicial custody. Previously, on July 25, the court had extended Kejriwal’s judicial custody in the money laundering case until July 31, and in the corruption case until August 8.

The Delhi CM is currently in judicial custody in the CBI case. Although the Supreme Court had granted Kejriwal interim bail in the ED case, he remains in Tihar jail as he has yet to post the bail bond for the case.
