New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted its initial chargesheet concerning the purported NEET UG examination paper leak, implicating 13 individuals, according to officials on Thursday.

The chargesheet alleges that these individuals were involved in the leak and other malpractices. The investigation remains active, with the CBI continuing its inquiry.

As part of its examination into the alleged malfeasance in the medical entrance test, the agency has registered six FIRs. The FIR from Bihar relates to the leak, while others from Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra concern candidate impersonation and cheating.

An FIR by the agency, based on a directive from the Union Education Ministry, calls for an extensive probe into the supposed irregularities in NEET-UG 2024.

The NTA administers the NEET-UG for entry into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied courses at both public and private institutions. This year, the examination took place on May 5 across 4,750 venues in 571 cities, including 14 international locations, with over 23 lakh examinees participating.
