Nine Fishermen Rescued from Tidal Waves Near Paradip – N.F Times


Paradip: The Odisha Fisheries Department, assisted by the Indian Coast Guard, rescued nine fishermen whose boat had been stranded for over two hours near the Mahanadi River mouth on Friday.

The fishermen were safely retrieved from the tidal wave at the river’s mouth, where the Mahanadi flows into the Bay of Bengal, near Paradip, an official from the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC) office stated.

Previously, the SRC had directed the Fisheries & Animal Resource Development Department and the Coast Guard in Paradip to promptly ensure the fishermen’s safe return.

The boat was reported to be stranded at the river mouth close to Nehru Bungalow in the port town of Jagatsinghpur district, officials mentioned.
