New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the detailed schedule for the UGC NET 2024 re-examination. The UGC NET 2024 is set to occur from August 21 to September 4, 2024, as per an official notice.
The NTA will administer the UGC NET June 2024 exam across 83 subjects from August 21 to September 4, 2024. The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode with the objectives of (i) awarding Junior Research Fellowships and appointing Assistant Professors, (ii) appointing Assistant Professors and enrolling candidates into PhD programs, and (iii) enrolling candidates into PhD programs exclusively.
The NTA also stated that information about the exam centre city would be available on the official websites, ugcnet.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in, at least ten days before the exam.
The updated schedule indicates that the exam will take place in two shifts of three hours each. The first shift is scheduled from 9 am to 12 pm, and the second from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Significantly, on June 18, the NTA declared that it had successfully carried out the UGC NET June exam for 9.08 lakh candidates.
Nevertheless, the next day, the Education Ministry received reports that raised concerns over the exam’s integrity, resulting in its annulment.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan disclosed that the exam’s question paper had been leaked on the darknet. In the past, the NTA has conducted the UGC NET exam for assistant professorship, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD admissions in CBT mode.
Earlier this year, the agency had announced that the June exam would take place on a single day in a pen-and-paper format.
Candidates seeking the latest updates on UGC NET 2024 admit cards and other details are advised to check the official NTA website.
