New Delhi:  A special Air India flight transported 205 individuals, including six infants, from Dhaka to New Delhi on Wednesday morning, according to an official.

The chartered flight, departing late Tuesday for the Bangladesh capital, utilized an A321 Neo aircraft. The flight returned with 205 passengers—199 adults and six infants—from Dhaka.

Despite airport infrastructure challenges, Air India managed the flight, which left the national capital empty, on very short notice, the knowledgeable official reported.

Air India is set to begin its regular service—two daily flights from the national capital to Dhaka on Wednesday. Although Air India cancelled its morning flight on Tuesday, it conducted the evening flight to Dhaka.

Vistara and IndiGo are also resuming their scheduled flights to the Bangladesh capital.
Vistara offers daily flights from Mumbai and three weekly flights from Delhi to Dhaka.

Typically, IndiGo provides one daily flight from Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai to Dhaka and two daily flights from Kolkata. Both Vistara and IndiGo cancelled their flights to the Bangladesh capital on Tuesday.

The neighbouring country is facing uncertainty after street protests over a job quota system prompted Sheikh Hasina to resign as prime minister and leave the country.
