Harendra Kumar takes over as ADG Eastern Zone of BRO – N.F Times


New Delhi: Harendra Kumar has assumed the role of Additional Director General (ADG) for the Eastern Zone of the Border Roads Organization (BRO), which operates under the Ministry of Defence.

Previously, Kumar, known for his engineering expertise in challenging locales, had served as the ADG for the West Zone in Chandigarh.

Following the retirement of Praveen Kumar Hanuman Singh, the former ADG of the Eastern Zone, on July 31, the Defence Ministry appointed Ajay Kumar Mishra, the Chief Engineer of the Brahmank Project in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, as the interim ADG of the BRO Eastern Zone, citing his seniority, skills, and experience.

Nonetheless, Harendra Kumar, an officer of the 1990 Border Road Engineering Service (BRES) batch, boasts extensive experience of over 34 years in constructing roads, bridges, and tunnels in the remote regions of the Indo-Tibetan border, including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh.

In recognition of his distinguished service, he has been honoured with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), prestigious awards bestowed by the President of India.

Upon assuming his new position, Harendra Kumar convened a meeting with engineers and officers at the East Zone Head Office auditorium to review the progress of various projects within the zone, stressing the importance of completing all construction works within their designated timelines.
