Poor Holding Land-Lease Will be Given Tenancy: Revenue Minister – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Poor people holding land leases will be identified and granted tenancy rights, announced Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari in the assembly.

The government acknowledges the plight of the state’s impoverished citizens who received land leases from the prior administration without a revenue process and have yet to take possession.

The Revenue Department has initiated the process to identify and allocate these lands. Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari assured the House today that the department will work assiduously towards this goal.

During the question period, MLAs raised concerns that the previous state government had issued free land leases to the poor and tribal communities, yet the lands remain unidentified. They inquired if the minister and department would undertake necessary actions.

In response, the minister affirmed that the poor must receive their rightful land. The former government distributed leases without adhering to revenue rule procedures, resulting in unidentified and unoccupied lands.

The current Mohan government is dedicated to resolving such intricate issues. Furthermore, the government has begun identifying those without homes or housing. The minister announced to the house that new leases would be granted following the completion of the identification process.
