Chennai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at multiple locations in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, targeting the Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a pan-Islamist group with aspirations to set up an Islamic caliphate in India.
The operations spanned 11 sites across the state. Earlier in June, the NIA had detained two individuals linked to this radical organization in relation to a different case.
