National Forensic Sciences University to Open Campus in Odisha – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is set to establish a campus in Odisha aimed at training students and police officers in combating the escalating cybercrime in the state.

This development was disclosed during a meeting between the university’s representatives and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

Acknowledging the recent surge in cybercrime, the chief minister emphasized the necessity of such an institution and assured that the state government would provide full support.

“The new NFSU campus will generate skilled professionals and specialists to tackle cybercrime in Odisha. Planned as a centre of excellence, it will equip police officers with cybersecurity training and also serve the state’s forensic officers,” he further stated.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, director of NFSU, New Delhi Purabi Phokhrial, Tripura director HK Pratihari and other experts on cyber security participated in the discussion.

Odisha’s chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, additional chief secretary, Home Department Satyabrat Sahu, DGP YB Khurania and ADG Arun Bothra were also present at the meeting.
