Jajpur: A couple was killed after a passenger bus caught fire after colliding with a motorcycle near Chhatia in Jajpur district on Monday.
Reports indicate that the ‘Chakadola’ bus, travelling from Balasore to Cuttack, struck the motorcycle on National Highway No 16 near Chhatia, leading to the fire. A couple on another motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, was tragically killed instantly after being dragged for a distance. Meanwhile, the bus passengers managed to disembark safely before the fire intensified.
Upon notification, Baria police station officials arrived at the scene and dispatched the bodies for post-mortem examination. Fire Services personnel from Chandikhol are currently at the location, attempting to extinguish the fire.
