India Condemns Attack by Pro-Khalistani Mob Outside Temple in Canada – N.F Times

New Delhi: India has condemned the recent attack by a pro-Khalistani mob on Hindu devotees outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Canada. The incident occurred during a consular camp event organized in collaboration with the temple, near Toronto.

Videos of the attack, widely circulated on social media, show a group of men wielding sticks and attacking devotees, including women and children. The mob was seen carrying flags associated with pro-Khalistani groups.

The Indian consulate expressed deep disappointment, noting that Canadian authorities had been informed in advance to ensure security at the event. “We have seen violent disruption today orchestrated by anti-India elements outside the consular camp co-organized with the Hindu Sabha Mandir,” the consulate stated.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the violence, calling it “unacceptable.” He emphasized that every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely. Trudeau thanked the police for their swift response in protecting the community and investigating the incident.

The attack has sparked outrage and concern over rising extremism and religious intolerance in Canada. Indian-origin MP Chandra Arya highlighted the increasing boldness of Khalistani extremists, stating that a “red line has been crossed”.
