Bhubaneswar: In a significant boost to the sports infrastructure of Odisha, a new Badminton High Performance Centre is set to be inaugurated at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. The inauguration ceremony will be graced by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The state-of-the-art centre aims to provide top-notch training facilities for badminton athletes, enhancing their performance and preparing them for national and international competitions. Equipped with advanced training equipment, modern courts, and expert coaching staff, the centre is expected to become a hub for nurturing badminton talent in the region.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “This centre will play a crucial role in developing the next generation of badminton champions from Odisha and beyond. We are committed to providing the best facilities and support to our athletes.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also highlighted the importance of such initiatives, saying, “Collaborative efforts like these are essential for the growth of sports in our country. This centre will not only benefit Odisha but will also serve as an inspiration for other states to invest in sports infrastructure.”
The Badminton High Performance Centre at Kalinga Stadium is expected to start operations early next year, with training programs and athlete selection processes already in the pipeline. This initiative marks a significant step towards making Bhubaneswar a prominent sports destination in India.
