‘Road Safety training for defensive driving Concluded’

SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has now geared up to stop the increasing accidents on the roads. Under the guidance of Sri AK Bhatta, Executive Director (Materials Management) and Chairman, Road & Rail CFT, 59 Road Safety Trainers have been developed, who regularly provide road safety training to all plant workers to create a safe environment in the plant and township. These 59 trainers have been selected on the basis of stringent criteria, exams and tests. Of these, 37 have been trained for two wheelers, 17 for four wheelers, and 5 for heavy vehicles.

All these trainers were honored with certificates by ‘Road and Rail CFT’ in a function recently. On this occasion, Executive Director (Materials Management) and Chairman, Road & Rail CFT Shri AK Bhatta congratulated all the trainers and said that now they should play their part in keeping the plant and worker families free from road accidents. He called for this training of ‘Defensive Driving’ to be organized in various departments along with HRD so that more and more personnel can be trained on road safety. He expressed confidence that these safety trainings would play a vital role in achieving the thought behind the slogan ‘Suraksha Ghar Se Ghar Tak’ of Bhilai Steel Plant.

On this occasion, the members of Road and Rail CFT Committee, Chief General Manager (Projects) Shri Ashok Kumar, Acting Chief General Manager (Safety & Fire Services) Shri GP Singh, General Manager-in-Charge (CED) Shri Rakesh Pandey, Deputy General Manager (Safety, HR and Official Language) Shri Ashok Jaswani, M/s ‘Swasya Solutions’ Shri Gautam Nayak along with General Manager (HRD) Shri Amulya Priyadarshi were also present. The program was successfully compered by the Manager (HRD) Ms. Avanti Vuchula.
