Dav , Kaling nagar inaugurates literature conclave on world literacy day

Bhubaneswar : World Literacy Day was observed with a wide range of activities at DAV, Kalinga Nagar. In the formal meeting organized to mark the occasion, Principal of the school Mr Bipin Kumar Sahoo said, ‘Education is the key to liberate the latent forces hidden amongst the youths and take the nation on the path of progresses.’ While highlighting on the history and importance of the day, he expressed his concern over illiteracy still continuing to be a global problem in spite of the many different steps at various quarters to eradicate the same and appealed the teachers as well as the student community to work in their individual capacity to wipe out the blot in their respective communities. The observation was followed by the inaugural ceremony of the DAV Literature Conclave organized under the aegis of DAV United Foundation and DAV CAE. Joining as the Chief Guest, Dr Gopa Ranjan Mishra-well known writer, author and Former Principal of JKBK College, Cuttack inaugurated the conclave. Chairman Sj Madan Mohan Panda delivered the welcome address. In his address to the gathering the chief guest said, “Literature is the best manifestation of creativity hidden in man”. While deliberating on the importance of literature in life the chief guest mentioned about the career opportunity that literature offers. Different activities like story review by teachers, panel discussion and presentation of self-composed poems and stories by the students were organized to mark the occasion. The programme was smoothly conducted by the whole-hearted cooperation of all the members of staff under the co-ordination of English department and Library Committee of the school of the school.
