Rourkela : The SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant women’s badminton team won Gold Medal in SAIL Swarna Jayanti Badminton Championship organised by Bokaro Steel Plant from 16th to 18th September, 2022 at Bokaro. The RSP Men’s team also won bronze medal in the said championship. The Women’s team comprised Ms. Shanti Kumari, DGM (Power Distribution), Ms. Divya Das, AGM (CCW), Ms. Jyotirmayee Rautia, Manager (New Plate Mill) and Ms. Rita Murmu, Manager (Hot Strip Mill-I) while the Men’s team consisted of Mr. A Dalai, Manager (NPM), Mr. R Naveen, Senior Manager (New Plate Mill), Md. Rashid, Senior Technician (T&RM) and Mr. R Tung, SOST (SMS-2). Mr. PNMK Swamy, Senior Manager (Coke Ovens) was the Coach of team RSP while Mr. Rajib Kumar Nayak, Senior Executive Assistant, ED (Works Secretariat) was the manager of the team.
It is noteworthy that all the units of SAIL participated in the championship organised as part of the SAIL Swarna Jayanti celebrations being observed across all SAIL units to commemorate the journey of 50 glorious years of the SAIL in the service to the nation.
