Bhilai : Caster 1 of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Steel Melting Shop 3 (SMS 3) has achieved another milestone by creating a new daily record of 32 heats on November 13, 2022, shattering the previous everbest record of 28 heats on February 22, 2022.
The entire rail bloom requirement of the Plant’s Universal Rail Mill (URM) met from this caster.CV1 caster of SMS 3 is one of the prime production units of BSP. SMS 3 also supplies cast billets to the Modex unit Bar and Rod Mill and other units like Merchant Mill and Wire Rod mill.
Shri Anirban Dasgupta, Director In-charge and other senior executives of SAIL- Bhilai Steel Plant congratulated the SMS-3 team and it’s associated departments for the milestone achieved by SMS-3.
