Ganjam : MINISTER A&FE F&ARD Ranendra Pratap Swain Wednesday flagged off ‘Raths’ at Cuttack as part of the Pani Panchayat Pakhya -2023 that kick started. across the State.
Minister ST & SC Development and Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Jagannath Sarka also flagged off the van at Rayagada and Deputy Speaker Rajanikant Singha flagged it off at Angul. Similarly all Collectors & District Magistrates of the state were also a part of the flagging off of the Raths.
Today Pani Panchayat Pakhya has been inaugurated and celebrated at the Premises of Minor Irrigation Division Office, BAM. The function were inaugurated by MLA Bikram Kumar Panda attended as chief guest while BeMC Mayor Smt. Shanghamitra Dalei and Deputy Mayor E.Bibek Reddy attended as guest of honour. Laxmikanta Tripathy, Superintending Engineer, MI Division-1 presided over the function. Among others Chief District Agriculture Officer, Ganjam Dilip Khuntia, Scientist, Pulse Research Institute of Ankuspur Dr.Radha Krushna Panigrahi, Superintending Engineer (Rtd.) SMIC, BAM Mr.Jaminikanta Das and all dignitaries & member of Pani Panchayat of block were present.
Agriculture can help reduce poverty, raise incomes and improve food security. It also crucial to economic growth: accounting for 4% of global gross domestic product (GDP) said by MLA Sri Panda. BeMC Mayor Smt. Dalei also suggested for the successful implementation, the basic role and aim and objectives of the Panipanchayat is to be understood. More and more young farmers are to take part in Agriculture.
Scientist Dr.Panigrahi said that about the advantages of pulses, how these pulses can take a better part on the livelihood and can be used for Medicine purpose and the various advantages of Millet, how Millet is helpful for healthy livelihood of the society while Chief District Agriculture Officer Sri Khuntia described various part of developmental schemes in Agriculture and Horticulture. At last the award distributed by the chief guest made to the winners of Debate, Quiz, Essay and Drawing competition winner students. At the end Govinda Chandra Gouda Secretary of Mahurikalua Pani Panchayata has described the success story about Panipanchayata how they are using the participated irrigation system and provided the vote of thanks.
