Bureau Head (PKB): There are sixty Kendriya Vidyalayas rendering academic education across the state of Odisha. After BJP government came to power since 2014, it made addition of two or perhaps three such new KVs in the coastal region of the state particularly in the areas of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
There is not a single new KV being established in the tribal sub-plan areas of koraput, Kalahandi or Balangir although the demand for such districts had been since last many years.The kV at koraput and sunabeda had been set up during Congress regime. The most depressing and disappointing gesture is found in the negligence of the demand for Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jeypore. When Dharmendra Pradhan became the first odia education minister in the centre, everyone from Jeypore subdivision of tribal dominated koraput district felt that the demand for Jeypore KV be materialized but even today no effective action taken towards its set up is harassing and disgusting as well.
Observing the constant negligence of Kendriya Vidyalaya for Jeypore, the Congress party particularly the koraput MP, Saptagiri Ullaka not only raised the issue in the Parliament but also met Mr. Pradhan personally with submission of memorandum to him. Very recently, the workers of Congress party staged a severe protest at Jeypore against the negligence of BJP government in the centre. Thousands supporting the issue took part in the protest.The local MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati along with the municipality chairman Narendra Mahanty participated in the protest. Further, the leaders of Congress party have given a call for massive strike on 9th may across Jeypore to press demand for the immediate establishment of the central school.
It is noted that the state government had already provided 8 acres of open land along with a well furnished building for the academic classes of Kendriya Vidyalaya for Jeypore. The fierce fight being undertaken by the Congress party here at Jeypore has been garnering good support from the locals.
