Bhubaneswar: Due to Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal with associated cyclonic circulation, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places in nine districts of Odisha during next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Orange Warning for the next three days and Yellow Warning for a day thereafter.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from some parts of Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; entire Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi; some parts of West Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan and some more parts of West Rajasthan today, the 30th September, 2023. The line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon passes through Gulmarg, Dharamshala, Pantnagar, Etawah, Morena, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur, Barmer and 25.7°N/70.3°E. The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and adjoining West Bengal during next 24 hours.”
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of North Odisha, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, and many places over the rest districts of Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 34.8oC was recorded at Parlakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 22.0oC was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.
