Balangir: An official thrashed a sarpanch in Odisha’s Balangir district as the latter alleged sub-standard developmental work in Harishankar area.
As per reports, PWD SDO Sridhar Das had visited Harishankar to review various works being carried out under the 5T initiative of the State Government.
During the officer’s visit, Changaria Sarpanch Sushil Guru reached the spot and alleged that poor quality of work was being done in the area.
The SDO became furious over the allegation and started thrashing the sarpanch. Locals later rescued the sarpanch.
On being informed, police reached the place and detained the official for questioning.
