Bhubaneswar: Three miscreants allegedly slit the throat of a college girl in Odisha’s Balangir district today.
Victim Priyambada Majhi, a student of DAV College at Titilagarh in Balangir, was hospitalised following the incident.
The incident took place while Priyambada, a resident of Junagarh area in Kalahandi, was on her way to college from her rented accommodation at Bahidarpada in Titilagarh at around 11 am in the morning.
Three bike-borne miscreants allegedly intercepted Priyambada at a secluded place and slit her throat with a razor blade before looting Rs 500 from the college girl.
On being informed by the locals, DAV College Principal Pranab Purohit rescued the injured girl and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
The police have reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
