Odisha AQI updates: Air quality falls into ‘poor’ category in State Capital – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: The Air Quality Index (AQI) of some major cities and towns in Odisha witnessed a ‘poor’ AQI rating, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) sources said today.

Angul recorded a ‘poor’ air quality with an index value of 272 and the major pollutant found was PM2.5. This was followed by Balasore (air quality-poor, index value-284, and major pollutant found-PM2.5), Barbil (air quality-moderate, index value-182, and major pollutant found-PM2.5), Baripada (air quality-moderate, index value-134, and major pollutant found-PM10), Bhubaneswar (air quality-poor, index value-272, and major pollutant found-PM2.5), Cuttack (air quality-poor, index value-283, and major pollutant found-PM2.5), Keonjhar (air quality-moderate, index value-158, and major pollutant found-PM2.5), Nayagarh (air quality-moderate, index value-133, and major pollutant found-PM2.5), Rairangpur (air quality-moderate, index value-104, and major pollutant found-PM10), Rourkela (air quality-moderate, index value-130, and major pollutant found-PM2.5) and Talcher (air quality-moderate, index value-173, and major pollutant found-PM2.5).

However, the air quality of Brajrajnagar was ‘satisfactory’ with an index value of 79 and the major pollutant found was PM10.
