GST Superintendent under CBI scanner for accepting bribe in Odisha’s Rourkela – N.F Times



Rourkela: A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths today caught the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Superintendent red-handed while he was accepting a bribe in the Civil Township locality under Raghunathpali police limits of Rourkela in Sundargarh district.

The senior GST official has been identified as Amarkant.

According to a source, Amarkant was nabbed by the CBI sleuths for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a government contractor. He was accepting the bribe in his office at Civil Township.

Following the trap, the GST official was taken to an unknown place and he is being thoroughly quizzed to gather more information.

CBI officials remained tightlipped and did not divulge any information when contacted.
