Budget Session of Odisha Assembly from tomorrow – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: The Budget Session of Odisha Assembly is all set to commence in the capital city here on February 5 (Monday).

The session will continue till February 13 and it will be the last session of Odisha Assembly before the 2024 elections.

The session, which is the 15th session of the 16th Assembly, will begin with the Governor’s address tomorrow, said the official notification.

As per the notification, the Budget Session will have seven working days. The Vote on Account or Interim Budget for 2024-25 fiscal will be tabled in the House on February 8. The Appropriation Bill will be moved on February 9.

“We will corner the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in the House on various issues, including the vast expenditure on Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor project in Puri. The state government should furnish proper accounts for Rs 4,200 crore spent on the project. The BJP government at the Centre and the BJD government in the state are doing politics in the name of religion. We will raise all these issues in the Assembly,” said Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra today.

BJD MLA and government chief whip in Assembly Prashanta Muduli said the state government is ready to discuss all issues in the House. “We are expecting cooperation and constructive suggestions from Opposition BJP and Congress,” he added.
