Rourkela: Student of a private ITI college located at Jagada under Jhirpani police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district reportedly died after falling off the hostel building on Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified as Atulyan Jojo (22) of Bansjor in Jharkhand. He was a first year student of ITI Fitter Trade.
As per reports, Atulyan, who was an inmate of the hostel, went missing in the evening. As he did not turn up for dinner, other students suspected foul play and informed the hostel superintendent.
Later, he was found lying dead on the roof of the building adjacent to the hostel. His mobile phone was also found at the spot.
Police have recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter. Cops have recorded the statements of other hostel inmates in connection with the incident.
Though the cause of death was yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that he fell off the hostel building accidentally while talking to someone over the phone.
