Berhampur: A woman allegedly slit her husband’s throat following a fight at home at Bariguda village under Dharakote police limits in Ganjam district of Odisha.
The victim underwent treatment at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
According to reports, Rohit Patra, 45, had been torturing his wife Kasturi Patra physically in an inebriated state. Due to his alcohol addiction, the couple had been fighting very often causing a nuisance in the family.
On Saturday night, the couple indulged in a heated argument over some issue. Out of anger, the woman allegedly slit her husband’s throat with a sharp weapon and stabbed him on his back.
Finding him suffering on the floor with throat slit, the family members rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Following primary treatment, he was shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
Till the last report came in, the victim’s health condition was stable.
