Koraput: At least two persons were killed and 12 others, including a bridegroom, sustained injuries as a vehicle carrying the marriage party met with an accident on NH-26 near Kaliaguda in Borigumma area of Odisha’s Koraput district, late last night.
As per reports, the ill-fated vehicle carrying the victims was heading towards Umerkote from Narayanpatna. It crashed into a bridge near Kaliaguda, killing the two persons and leaving others injured.
On being informed, the local police and Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued them.
They were admitted to the Borigumma Community Health Centre for treatment.
Police have started investigation into the matter.
