Heatwave continues to singe Odisha as mercury crosses 41 Degree C at 20 places – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: Intense heatwave condition continued to prevail across Odisha as the mercury crossed 41 Degree Celsius at 20 places in the state today.

The capital city of Bhubaneswar and the western Odisha town of Nuapada recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43.2 Degree C on Wednesday, said the IMD in its weather bulletin.

The day temperature in the capital city was 4.9 Degree C above the normal, added the IMD.

The maximum temperature was 43.1 Degree C at Jharsuguda, 42.5 at Baripada and Paralakhemundi, 42.2 at Chandbali, Bhadrak and Kendrapara, and 42 Degree C at Titlagarh, Jajpur and Dhenkanal.

At least nine places in the state—Angul, Cuttack, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Talcher, Malkangiri, Nayagarh and Bhawanipatna—recorded the maximum temperature in between 41 and 42 Degree C, said the IMD regional centre in its weather report.

According to the IMD, four places in Odisha—Rourkela, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Khurda—recorded the maximum temperature in between 40-41 Degree C.
