Khurda: Newly-elected BJP Khurda MLA Prashant Jagdev, who was earlier arrested on the charges of violence at a booth on May 25, has been discharged from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Prashant Jagdev has been granted interim bail for three days – June 9, 10 and 11. The Additional District Judge Court-1 of Khordha granted the bail to the newly elected BJP legislator.
Jagdev was arrested on the charges of toppling an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) during the third phase of polling held in Odisha on May 25. His arrest had triggered great furore with the BJP accusing the BJD of hatching a conspiracy against him. The BJP workers even went on to gherao Khurda Sub-Collector’s office, demanding his immediate release.
