Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday released sketches of three terrorists involved in a terror attack in Doda district, UT, where four soldiers, including a Captain, were killed.
A reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced for information leading to the terrorists, with several contact numbers provided for tips.
On July 16, an encounter with heavily armed terrorists in Doda district claimed the lives of four Army personnel, including Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra, and Sepoy Ajay Naruka.
The ‘Kashmir Tigers’, affiliated with the Pakistan-supported Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), claimed responsibility for the attack.
A police spokesperson from Doda stated that efforts are underway to capture the terrorists, believed to be in the upper areas of the district, particularly the Dessa forest where the soldiers were killed.
The spokesperson also urged the public to share any information on the terrorists, promising confidentiality for informers. Recently, Jammu & Kashmir has seen an increase in terrorist activities.
On the following Sunday, the Army thwarted an attack by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT), resulting in the death of a soldier and injuries to four others, including a Major. A Pakistani terrorist was also killed during the operation.
