Puri: Over 30 houses belonging to 15 families in Alisa village within the Stayabadi block of Puri district were destroyed when a significant fire erupted late Monday night.
Sources say the fire started around 1:40 a.m. in one house before quickly spreading to others, resulting in property damage amounting to lakhs.
One individual suffered severe burn injuries, and three cattle perished in the blaze, as reported by sources.
While the precise cause of the fire is unknown, it is suspected that an electrical short circuit may have ignited the fire.
As of the latest update, villagers and Fire Services personnel have successfully extinguished the fire.
