Mumbai: Businessman Raj Kundra has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with a money laundering investigation linked to a high-profile pornography case. This development follows recent raids conducted at his residence and offices.
Sources indicate that Kundra, the husband of actor Shilpa Shetty, has been directed to appear at the ED office tomorrow. The investigation focuses on Kundra’s alleged involvement in the illegal distribution of pornographic content through the “Hotshots” app, with suspicions of money laundering and international connections.
Kundra has stated that he is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which has been unfolding over the past four years. His lawyer emphasized that the action is not directed at Shilpa Shetty and that Kundra is committed to ensuring the truth comes out.
The case, which emerged in May 2022, is based on multiple FIRs and chargesheets filed by the Mumbai Police. Kundra was previously arrested and later granted bail. This is the second money laundering case against him this year, following an earlier case involving cryptocurrency.
