Balangir Branch Observed World Red Cross Day

Balangir: The World Red Cross Day was observed by the Balangir District Branch with pomp and gaiety. The Additional Collector Sj. Pabitra Behera unfolded the Red Cross Flag and briefed the assembly of Life Members and Volunteers about sanctity of Red Cross and sacrifice of the founder of Red Cross Sir Jean Henry Dunant.

Thereafter the campus of Harishankar,Shaiva Pitha was cleaned by the volunteers of the Red Cross and Pollution Control Board which was also followed with an awareness programme on avoiding use of single use of plastic packets. The ADM Sj Bijayananda Sethi, Sub Collector ,Patnagarh Sj. Sunil Meher, Tahasildar Khaprakhol Sj. Aditya Prasad Mishra, BDO,Khaprakhol Aj. Bibekananda Sarangi, ADMO,Pollution Control Officer,Forest Range,Balangir,Khaprakhol, Counsellors of Youth Red Cross, Counsellors of Junior Red Cross, Patron and EC Member Sj. Bishnu Prasad Kedia, RP Ram Narayan Dash, PrabhakaranChhand, Ghanashyam Meher, Harishankar Purohit, Baldev Dash, Sanjay Mishra, Prashant Mishra, Amar Behera respectively joined this programme. The Emergency Officer-Dist. Secretary Smt. Sasmita Pradhan proposed a vote of thanks and highlighted that the Red Cross Volunteers and First Aiders would provide voluntary service to the general public until the Harishankar Yatra over by 12 May 2025.
