Buruea Head : Huge amount of money spent by Jeypore Municipality in the establishment of mini parks around the different colonies of Jeypore town. Most of the parks are meant for recreational activities and creating a hygienic friendly environment among the colony people. But there is no amount of dedication being shown towards the maintenance of the parks. This is a third degree treatment given to the public money. One such mini park located in Hanuman colony in powerhouse area of Jeypore which was reported to have been set up under Mukta johana of the Govt but no amount of maintenance as allegedly stated by the inhabitants of the colony. There is no light connection even to the park While expressing shock , the colony people stated that the open space area of the colony after repeated requests was converted into a mini park by Jeypore Municipality and inaugurated by the local MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati. Now, snakes are often found emerging inside the park. Neither the chairman of Jeypore Municipality Narendra Mahanty nor the local counsellor have ever visited the park after its set up. It was set up one year back with the then executive officer Hemakanta say. The colony people have decided to submit a complaint to the Zilla Parishad Executive Officer and Koraput District Magistrate in this connection stating that the sanitary people belonging to Jeypore Municipality in spite of being informed are causing negligence. Govt of India and BjD government of our state are spending huge amount of money for the hygienic environment. Even the SHG members are not being entrusted with the responsibility of the maintenance of the park in spite of their appeals is a shocking incident of annoyance. Now there is a demand of a community hall which has not been inducted by Jeypore Municipality. Why to callously spend money which is of no use for the public being stated by the inhabitants.
