In-house developed Blower Point Monument inaugurated at Power Blowing Station of SAIL, RSP

Rourkela : An in-house developed Blower Point Monument was inaugurated at Power Blowing Station of Captive Power Plant – 3 of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 21st January. Mr. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works) unveiled the monument in the presence of Mr. B.Sunil Kartha, CGM (Power), other CGMs, HODs, Senior officers, employees from CPP-1 and supporting agencies and Departments.
ED (Works) also felicitated Mr.S.M.Ali, Senior Technician, PBS for playing a pioneering role in the development of the monument. The monument has been developed at PBS, CPP-3 with complete support from Refractory Engineering Department and Civil Engineering Services utilising an obsolete old rotor from Turbo Blower – 4 of CPP-1 and other in-house resources. The blower rotor had rendered service of 25 years and had immensely contributed in hot metal production at Blast Furnaces. It has an emotional connect with the employees of Captive Power Plant. Hence installation of the monument was an effort to conserve the equipment.
The monument was conceptualized and constructed under the leadership of Mr. S L Das, GM In-charge (CPP-3) under the guidance of Mr. B Sunil Kartha.
