Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today celebrated its 27th foundation day across the state.
MPs and MLAs from the BJD were asked by party supremo Naveen Patnaik to conduct functions in their respective constituencies.
Marathons, blood donation camps, plantation drives and other social programmes were organized by party leaders across the state to celebrate the day.
A cycle rally from Anand Bhawan in Cuttack (Naveen Patnaik’s birthplace) to Sankha Bhawan (BJD headquarters) in Bhubaneswar was held on the occasion.
BJD president Naveen Patnaik also paid floral tributes to legendary leader and former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik at the Forest Park here.
On the occasion of the foundation day, the party leaders and workers took pledge to dedicate themselves towards the service of the people of Odisha.
