Bhubaneswar: A three-year-old girl reportedly died after she fell into a large water bucket in Odisha’s Koraput district today.
The deceased has been identified as Pari Harijan, daughter of Tukuna Harijan, of Kuntarkhala village under Jeypore Sadar police limits in Koraput.
The toddler fell into the water bucket while playing in their house in the morning. She was immediately rescued and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition, sources said.
However, the girl was declared dead on arrival by the doctors at the DHH.
“The hospital authorities informed us about the incident. As there was no allegation of foul play, we handed over the girl’s body to her family members without conducting autopsy,” said Jeypore Sadar police inspector in-charge (IIC) Ishwar Tandi.
